“I was local and knew Scrivens as an optical customer for years.”

“Listen to people, educate, communicate, build a rapport, make people feel valued and listened to.”

“The audiology system is good. The staff are great and the customers are lovely.”

7. What is your day-to-day like?

“Very varied in terms of the people I deal with.”

8. What kind of training do you receive?

“Foundation degree with supervisor in work. Ongoing training from hearing aid providers and head office.”

9. What advice would you give to someone who is just starting as a Hearing Aid Audiologist?

“It gets easier! Work on your communication skills.”

10. What inspired you to become a Hearing Aid Audiologist?

“I fancied a change. I like to learn and it seemed like a rewarding job.”

11. How long have you been working in the hearing industry?

“Around 7 years.”

12. What is the most rewarding part of being a Hearing Aid Audiologist?

“1. Making a difference to people’s lives.
2. The look on people’s faces when they realise how hearing aids can help them.
3. Knowing that you have helped someone understand their hearing loss.”
